Please
note: image maps must fully load before
they link. The following image map will link to 9 other image maps which show larger versions of the pictures, 24 at a time. If you click on any of these 24 you will go to a page which will show you an even larger version of the picture, and include comments about it written by me or the contributor. Below the image map is a set of text links in case you dont want to wait for the images to load. While it is probably "normal" for the thumbnail image maps to load slowly the first time they should load more rapidly from then on. If the image map always reloads slowly, see the item on the "MAIN" page about "setting your browser".
Nine smaller maps are linked from the following
image.

Looking for "anything" of Mound or Lake Minnetonka area 3 Decades old or older. If you would like to post that photo(s) you took of your family or friends in or near Mound decades ago or that advertising from the local drive in theater, or what ever ... attach it to e-mail as a jpeg (jpe jpg)or gif with your comments and who to credit it too. Of course if a photo, it should contain something related to the subject of this site. (I will edit or reject items if needed for legal or practical reasons.) Try to include 'When' , 'Where', 'Who', 'What',and if you are in a philosophical mood, 'Why'. If you send something by email attachment make your subject line the word "History" or "Mound" otherwise it may get lost in the deluge of spam. This site is not affiliated with any commercial organization. |

You will notice some maps are empty. I will add things as I find them. I also replace existing pictures when I find better examples. |
Click in the middle of a thumbnail or link to go to a specific page. A few
graphics are large and will take a little time to load.

Picturing Lake Minnetonka
A Post Card History by James W. Ogland and published by the
Minnesota Historical Society. Graphics of far greater quality and variety
than anything you'll find on the net, unless of course you visit the Minnesota
Historical Society. The book is filled with fascinating historical information
about the Lake Minnetonka area. A great gift for anyone who lives near the
"Great Waters" or once did. It is also a great way to support your
historical society and works of local historical importance. I know this sounds like an advertisement but I'm not affiliated in any way to anyone involved with "Picturing Lake Minnetonka". I love history, and believe it's important. If you like what I have on this site you'll probably want this book. |
